We had a great time. The place was amazing and had lots of amenities. Check-in was smooth, and Maria was fantastic to deal with. The property also has lots of animals, which made the stay even more enjoyable. The only downside was that the cellular reception was not very good. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely recommend it.

Thanks for an amazing experience guys. The kids loved it (so did the adults ha ha). My youngest loved playing with the goats and seeing emu up so close they certianly wont forget. The fire in the property was perfect thanks for some great memories. The Moore family

What an incredibly beautiful and peaceful place! Both the two legged as well as four legged hosts were super kind and welcoming :)
Adults enjoyed the peacefulness, quietness fresh air and bright night sky - kids enjoyed the goats and emus.
Looking for some quality time with your loved ones, disconnecting from elsewhere? This place is perfect!

The farmstay was an excellent way to disconnect from the hustle and bustle, and have several close encounters with the local animals. The emus and goats were very entertaining to feed and walk with each morning, and I appreciated the helpful tips for feeding provided beforehand. The stay was peaceful and isolated, but yet still quite well connected with the surrounding activities. I would definitely stay here again, as it is a quintessential stop for a south west Australian experience.

From Maria’s warm communications, to the enthusiasm of the goat-herd greeting party, we felt instantly welcome and at home in our delightful cottage at Walpole Wilderness Retreat. What a stunning setting! We adored getting to know the resident goats, sheep, emus and kangaroos, and appreciated the morning birdsong, the amazing night sky, walks on the property and many delights of the region. Special mention to our wonderfully articulate and impressive young host, Xavier. We yearn to return.

A wonderful stay with lovely hosts who helped us enjoy a memorable stay in the Wildnerness.
Well placed for exploring Walpole and the Valley of the Giants.
Lovely to enjoy the BBQ, jacuzzi bath, collection of classic DVDs, goats/emus, and peace and fantastic star gazing.
We will definitely be back!

We stayed for one night on our road trip through WA. The location was beautiful and peaceful and the fireplace was prepared for us after arriving in the dark after a long day of driving. In the morning we had a great time having breakfast with the emus and goats and the goats even joined us on the verandah. Comfy bed and nice warm showers and a lovely location. Definitely recommend to stay again especially if you want to interact with the animals.

We had a great time during our stay. The farm is beautiful and the location is perfect for a weekend getaway. Both Maria and Jim were super friendly and considerate. Our kids spent most the time playing with the goats at their farm. We also joined Jim during animal feeding and learnt a few good things about goats and Emus.
Overall, great experience. Highly recommended for families with young kids 🙏

We had an amazing time! The cabin is super cozy and the owners super friendly! We got to meet all the animals and even feed the Emus! It was worth the drive :)
